AbstractIn the paper, by using of the Limit Index, we prove a theorem applying to get multiple critical values of some strongly indefinite nonsmooth functionals, and then we apply it to a system of equations involving the p-Laplacian

A new quantity for statistical analysis: "Scaling invariable Benford distance"

For the first time, we introduce "Scaling invariable Benford distance" and "Benford cyclic graph", which can be used to analyze any data set. Using the quantity and the graph, we analyze some date sets with common distributions, such as normal, exponent, etc., find that different data set has a much different value of "Scaling invariable Benford distance" and different figure feature of "Benford cyclic graph". We also explore the influence of data size on "Scaling invariable Benford distance", and find that it firstly reduces with data size increasing, then approximate to a fixed value when the size is large enough.Comment: 4 pages,4 figure

Modulation of Acetylation: Creating a Pro-survival and Anti-Inflammatory Phenotype in Lethal Hemorrhagic and Septic Shock

Histone deacetylases (HDACs) play a key role in homeostasis of protein acetylation in histone and nonhistone proteins and in regulating fundamental cellular activities. In this paper we review and discuss intriguing recent developments in the use of histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACIs) to combat some critical conditions in an animal model of hemorrhagic and septic shock. HDACIs have neuroprotective, cardioprotective, renal-protective, and anti-inflammatory properties; survival improvements have been significantly shown in these models. We discuss the targets and mechanisms underlying these effects of HDACIs and comment on the potential new clinical applications for these agents in the future. This paper highlights the emerging roles of HDACIs as acetylation modulators in models of hemorrhagic and septic shock and explains some contradictions encountered in previous studies

Modulation of Noise in Submicron GaAs/AlGaAs Hall Devices by Gating

We present a systematic characterization of fluctuations in submicron Hall devices based on GaAs/AlGaAs two-dimensional electron gas heterostructures at temperatures between 1.5 K to 60 K. A large variety of noise spectra, from 1/f to Lorentzian, are obtained by gating the Hall devices. The noise level can be reduced by up to several orders of magnitude with a moderate gate voltage of 0.2 V, whereas the carrier density increases less than 60% in the same range. The significant dependence of the Hall noise spectra on temperature and gate voltage is explained in terms of the switching processes related to impurities in n-AlGaAs.Comment: 5 pages, 4 fig

A UNIFIED RISK-BENEFIT ANALYSIS FRAMEWORK FOR INVESTIGATING MOBILE PAYMENT ADOPTION

    Get PDF
The paper proposes a unified risk-benefit analysis framework for investigating consumers’ adoption of mobile payment technology. Based on perceived risk theory and risk-benefit analysis literature, the proposed framework integrates three variables—perceived risk, perceived benefit and perceived value, to predict consumers’ intention to use mobile payment. All the proposed hypotheses are well supported based on an empirical validation of 336 useful survey samples. The results show that consumers consider both the beneficial and risky aspects of using mobile payment to evaluate the overall desirability (perceived value) of adoption decision. Further, perceived value, together with perceived risk and benefit directly affects consumers’ intention to adopt the technology. Financial risk is found to be the key resource of the risks of using mobile payment. Both theoretical and practical implications are discussed

Research on the Individuation of Client-Centered Ecommerce

Many enterprises all over the world plunge into developing ecommerce in recent two or three years, but don’t attain their expectant goals. Taking Chinese enterprises as the example, through analyzing the individuating trend of consumption and the operating status of ecommerce, this paper emphasizes that only the enterprises develop client-centered ecommerce considering their practice conditions can they fit the individuating trend of consumption and ecommerce, and puts forward some proposals for the individuation of this client-centered ecommerce for enterprises in new century
